Abstract

This study looks at some of the most exciting and difficult IoT scenarios and demonstrates why many of the applications anticipated for those scenarios will not be able to be met by the computing and storage models now in use in data centres.  Cloud computing and edge computing are two quickly developing technologies that might have a big influence on how information technology and other sectors develop in the future.  An overview of edge and cloud computing's current status, a discussion of industry stakeholders' viewpoints, and projections for these complementary technologies' future are the objectives of this survey report.  We provide important insights into the possible advantages, difficulties, and ramifications of edge and cloud computing by reviewing the most recent scholarly and commercial literature, speaking with experts in-person and via surveys, and evaluating the information gathered.  Over the last ten years, cloud computing has emerged as the de facto option for the processing and storage of massive amounts of data
